New TechnologiesOne of the newest devices is the O-Arm® Imaging System at RVMC

Medford Neurological & Spine Clinic neurologists and neurosurgeons work closely with affiliated diagnostic centers and hospitals advising them on purchasing the latest technical advancements. One of the newest devices is the O-Arm® Imaging System at Rogue Valley Medical Center (RVMC).
Dr. Altstadt
was one of the first neurosurgeons in the country to use the imaging device and worked with MNSC and RVMC to bring this technology to the Rogue Valley.

The purpose of the O-Arm is to provide multidimensional images in real time. During surgery, the devise encircles the operating table and provides 3-dimensional images so surgeons can track alignment of the spine and placement of implant hardware. The O-Arm provides the ability to make adjustments at the time of surgery thus improving accuracy and patient outcomes.

“Safety and time are critical in the operating room,” says MNSC neurosurgeon Dr. Walker. “The O-Arm offers multidimensional images in about 30 seconds. This real time imaging is not offered by other technologies and allows for maximum safety.”
